Cal Day launched graduating senior’s Berkeley experience

Senior Ahn-Thi Le’s UC Berkeley journey began with Cal Day, when she fell in love with the campus. Now, after following a path that took her to India to work with rural artisans and to a place in the CellScope initiative improving health care in Vietnam, Le is about to graduate.

A new interactive website Cal Day 2012, coming up April 21, offers a searchable program of all 300 events planned for the annual campus open house, recommendations and food and travel options, plus features that will allow visitors to tweet and post photos to share their experience.

Where else but at Cal Day can you watch robots folding laundry, take a mini lesson in Swahili, Zulu or Wolof, and learn how to grow a cranial appendage? Rain or shine, UC Berkeley will open its classrooms, labs, museums, libraries and performance spaces to the public this Saturday, April 16. Cal Day typically draws 40,000 visitors to the world-renowned campus, including prospective students and their families.
