Summer construction work to restrict traffic on Piedmont Ave.

Summer construction to limit traffic on Piedmont

May 17, 2011:

Utility upgrades and sidewalk repair will close the eastern lanes of Piedmont Avenue at the east end of campus through the summer. All traffic on Piedmont from Bancroft Way to the Haas School of Business will share the west side of the roadway through the end of August.

New path being built on SW side of Sproul Hall

July 14, 2011:

Work to create a paved pathway on the southwest side of Sproul Hall, connecting the south front of the building to the Savio Steps, will begin on Monday, July 18, and is expected to be completed by mid-August.

Campanile closing July 5 for six weeks

June 21, 2011:

The Campanile will be closed from July 5 through Aug. 12 while exterior changes are made to improve access.

Memorial Stadium construction moving into next phase

April 7, 2011:

With the demolition of Memorial Stadium’s southern bowl reaching its completion, the jackhammers will soon be silenced as four new cranes begin laying the framework for the restoration of this historical landmark.

Concrete work will close Haste St. on Wednesday

February 8, 2011:

,Haste Street between Bowditch and Telegraph will be closed to vehicles starting at 6 a.m. on Feb. 9, due to a large concrete pour for part of the foundation of the new student housing.

Construction crew moves into Memorial Stadium

December 14, 2010:

Morgan Hall lab renovation certified LEED Gold

December 14, 2010:

In a project harnessing the energies of students and alumni as well as building crews, 5,222 square feet of office and storage space in Morgan Hall have been transformed into modern, sustainable laboratories for the Department of Nutritional Science & Toxicology. The overhaul is the first lab renovation on the Berkeley campus to achieve LEED Gold certification.
