Instructors flex their 'digital imaginations' in new-media seminar

December 8, 2011:

For the past semester, 21 campus faculty and staff have been studying the intellectual, historical and cultural roots of today’s “new media,” and using those 21st-century tools to reflect and interact. Applications will be accepted soon for the spring-semester offering of “Awakening the Digital Imagination.”

ETS launches e-text pilot

August 27, 2012:

This semester, Educational Technology Services is heading up a pilot program to explore a new way of offering students access to e-textbooks. The goal is to explore a new business model for delivering electronic content, as well as to find out how the use of electronic content may affect the teaching and learning process.

Online education: ETS launches a one-stop production suite

November 28, 2011:

With the flip of two switches, and a bit of face powder, Berkeley faculty members can now make professional-quality multimedia recordings for presentation online, at a small fraction of the going commercial rates. The place to do that is Educational Technology Services’ new production suite, with a nickname suggesting its all-in-one utility.

ETS creating active learning classroom ‘test kitchen’ in Dwinelle

August 2, 2011:

Educational Technology Services is building a prototype classroom where instructors can be more innovative and students can engage actively. The “test kitchen,” opening this fall in Dwinelle 127, will transform a video conferencing space into a classroom with updated a/v equipment, flexible furniture, portable writing surfaces, new lighting and restored windows.
