Two Ph.D. candidates win Newcombe fellowships

UC Berkeley doctoral candidates Margaret Boittin (political science) and Karamet Reiter (jurisprudence and social policy) are among the 21 new Charlotte W. Newcombe Doctoral Dissertation Fellows announced today by The Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation. The Newcombe Fellowship is the nation’s largest and most prestigious such award for Ph.D. candidates in the humanities and social sciences addressing questions of ethical and religious values. Each 2011 fellow will receive a 12-month award of $25,000.
