University launches campus climate survey

Do you feel included and supported at Berkeley?

February 5, 2013:

An unprecedented survey, being launched at UC Berkeley on Feb. 5, will query faculty, students and staff about campus climate. Among many incentives to participation, offered by UCOP and the Berkeley campus, is a $10,000 scholarship.

In a Q&A with the NewsCenter, powell discusses the book and his ambitious vision for the Haas Institute for a Fair and Inclusive Society, which he heads at Berkeley.

Multicultural education workshops offered

March 28, 2012:

The campus’s Multicultural Education Program is offering two workshops for faculty and staff audiences this spring — one on creating inclusive classrooms, the other on exploring unconscious biases.

Pioneering initiative launched on equity, diversity and inclusion, backed by Evelyn and Walter Haas, Jr. Fund

February 18, 2010:

A major effort was announced today (Feb. 18) to establish UC Berkeley as a national leader in research, teaching and public service related to equity and inclusion. Backed by the Evelyn and Walter Haas, Jr. Fund, the new initiative will launch a sweeping array of research projects, faculty chairs, student scholarships, dozens of new courses, and programs across campus. The $16 million commitment from the Haas, Jr. Fund eventually could total $31 million, as parts of it are set up as challenge grants.
