New partners plant seeds for Richmond Bay joint campus

July 30, 2012:

More than 300 people turned out for a lively community workshop to start sketching out what will be the Richmond Bay Campus, a coveted prize for which the city competed with seven other Bay Area cities.

Berkeley Lab hosts open house on Oct. 13

The public is invited for exhibits, tours, lectures and more at Berkeley Lab’s open house Saturday, Oct. 13.

Berkeley to host transatlantic clean-energy conference

March 14, 2012:

The YESS 2012 symposium, starting March 20, brings together young researchers and senior scientists from France and America to discuss nanotechnology solutions to clean-energy challenges.

Physicist Marvin Cohen wins Dickson Prize in Science

March 5, 2012:

Carnegie Mellon University will award its 2011 Dickson Prize in Science to Berkeley physics professor Marvin L. Cohen, a senior scientist at the Berkeley lab and one of the most influential condensed-matter physicists in the world. He will receive the award, which includes a medal and cash prize, before giving the Dickson Prize Lecture on Thursday (March 8) at CMU’s Oakland campus.

Lab picks Richmond Field Station for a second campus

January 23, 2012:

The Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, bursting at the seams of its home next door to UC Berkeley, announced Monday that it has picked the University of California’s bayside Richmond Field Station as the site of its second campus. The lab expansion will have benefits for Berkeley, Chancellor Birgeneau says.
