Berkeley rises in new world university rankings

October 3, 2012:

Despite a year that saw significant cuts in state funding, UC Berkeley rose a step on the list of the world’s Top 10 universities in new rankings from the Times Higher Education.

Network World magazine names UC Berkeley top school for tech CEOs

July 11, 2012:

UC Berkeley landed in the top spot for U.S. colleges that produced the most influential high-tech CEOs, according to Network World magazine, which analyzed the educational backgrounds of the 50 highest-paid and most powerful CEOs in the U.S. tech industry.

Washington Monthly ranks Berkeley No. 3 on ‘social good’ scale

August 30, 2011:

The University of California dominated Washington Monthly’s 2011 College Guide and Rankings, with UC San Diego, UCLA and UC Berkeley taking the top three places in the magazine’s rating of how well universities contribute to social good.

UC Berkeley shines again in ranking of world universities

August 15, 2011:

UC Berkeley remains the world’s top public university in the 2011 Academic Ranking of World Universities issued today by Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The annual list of the world’s best 500 universities is based almost entirely on scientific research strength. Eight of the top 10 spots went to U.S. universities, including UC Berkeley.

Doctoral program rankings change slightly after NRC revisions

May 11, 2011:

The National Research Council revised its 2010 survey of doctoral programs, changing some of UC Berkeley’s numbers but not altering the campus’s overall ranking as one of the best graduate research institutions in the nation.
