Antiquity reborn: Parthenon casts mounted in Dwinelle lobby

February 16, 2011:

Workers have begun installing several century-old plaster casts from the Parthenon frieze in the lobby of Dwinelle Hall. The casts, now owned by the Classics Department, were once used in the study of art, but have been in storage for many decades.

Berkeley Art Museum’s new installation puts the fun in functional art

February 9, 2010:

Many modern museums now serve as gathering spots for the art-minded and (especially) the young. BAMscape, a commissioned installation in the museum’s central atrium, supports the Berkeley Art Museum’s new activities and direction.
