The federal Temporary Payroll Tax Cut Continuation Act, signed into law in late December, reduces the Social Security withholding rate from for the first two months of 2012. The reduced withholding will be implemented at UC campuses on designated dates outlined by UC’s Human Resources and Benefits unit.
