Police board calls for tighter oversight on use of force in student protests

PRB calls for tighter oversight on use of force

June 6, 2012:

Commissioned by Chancellor Robert Birgeneau after the events of Nov. 9, 2011, the 36-page report calls on campus administrators to do more to articulate “strictly confined limits” on police tactics during protest events.

Mountain lion with cubs sighted along eastern edge of campus

July 24, 2012:

A mountain lion and two cubs have been seen several times in the past month in the area near Stern Hall, the Greek Theatre and Gayley Road. UCPD has issued an alert to the campus community, and tips on how to avoid them and protect yourself if you should encounter one.

Police Review Board update

January 30, 2012:

A campus Police Review Board report on the November 2011 protests will be delayed beyond the original Jan. 31 deadline, PRB chair Jesse Choper said in a letter to the Chancellor. (PDF)
