UCOP to cut operating costs, shift system funding model

March 30, 2011:

The University of California Office of the President will cut roughly $50 million from its annual operating costs and return oversight of some programs to the campuses, as part of a larger effort to give UC chancellors as much budget flexibility as possible.

March 1, 2013:

The Board of Regents has launched an international search for a successor to Mark Yudof, who will step down as UC president in August. A special committee, chaired by regent Sherry Lansing, will conduct the search; a recommendation is expected in July.

Eligibility verification project to save UC $10 million a year

The vast majority of faculty, staff and retirees with family members enrolled in UC-sponsored health plans have had all their family members verified to be eligible for coverage.

May 17 is deadline for UC family-member eligibility verification

Most UC employees are required to provide documents, by May 17, to verify their family members’ eligibility for UC-sponsored health benefits.

UC Riverside to host systemwide shared-service center for HR, payroll

May 3, 2012:

The UCPath Center will open its doors in July 2013, initially serving five campuses. Berkeley will make the transition by October 2014.
